LARCH
CLADDING - The
larch used to clad your garden office comes from
either Scotland or North East England.
Larch heartwood is frequently used for cladding
in northern Europe. Heartwood comes from the
centre of the tree, where the fibres are densely
packed.
Traditionally, larch is used in high quality boat
building as well as for cladding buildings. It is a very strong, durable wood that
can be left untreated.
Not using chemical preservatives
reduces the environmental impact of the building.
However coloured stains can be
used on larch without harming the wood.
